4 Ways to Untangle Your Life from Work

Work has a way of weauntangle knot and achieve work-life balanceving its way into your life so intricately, it’s hard to untangle it all when you finally realize you need a break.

Finding a healthy work-life balance is especially important for entrepreneurs, who often find themselves buried in their work nearly 7 days a week. When you’re too involved in your professional life, your personal life will suffer (or come to a complete stop).

Many of us wonder what a healthy work-life balance looks like. How do real entrepreneurs stop their worlds from colliding?

We asked our savvy social media followers to share their best time management tips with us and compiled them into 4 ways you can untangle your life from your work.

How To Create Work-Life Balance

1. Schedule your time.

Set normal business hours. Carve out a block of time each day for work and do the same for your personal life. Spending time with friends and family is easier and less stressful to plan when it’s fit neatly into your schedule.

2. Make sleep a priority.

You need it to look and feel your best. Resist the urge to stay up late brainstorming a new idea or focusing on your website–schedule those activities for earlier in the day to give them the attention they need.

3. Keep the business chatter to a minimum.

Talking about your business too much can alienate your friends and family. Share your successes and ask for help when needed, but don’t let it dominate every conversation.

4. Hire help when you can.

An agency or qualified individual to take on your marketing, a call center to handle after-hours calls, or a virtual assistant to take care of administrative tasks can free up hours of your time each week and help you manage your work-life balance.
